When Barbara Padilla joined America’s Got Talent in 2009, she had a massively inspiring story. Diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, the singer had to survive several rounds of chemo. But despite this tremendous challenge, her love for singing remained, and she secured accomplishments while studying at the University of Houston. He placed first in the NAT Competition and also performed the American and Mexican National Anthems at a sold-out game in a 70,000-capacity venue.
Soon enough, he made her way to America’s Got Talent and shared her amazing story. During the audition, she performed the captivating “O mio babbino caro” by Florence Easton. Her extraordinary rendition of the hit made her advance to Las Vegas. During her time with the competition, Barbara Padilla made numerous iconic performances, including Andrea Bocelli’s “Time to Say Goodbye” and Charles Francois Gounoud’s “Ave Maria.” Finally, during the semi-finals, Padilla once again performed “O mio babbino caro,” that evening, she placed second, only losing to fellow contestant Kevin Skinner.
Barbara Padilla may not have won the competition, but she has captivated the minds and hearts of viewers across the globe. Her captivating vocals have endeared everyone to her genre and brought much exposure to classical music. In 2018, she dropped the highly acclaimed singles “Y Lo Se Que Tu Te Vas” and “No Tengas Miedo.” In 2020, she collaborated with Arnfield Cudal for “Suite No. 1 in F Major.” That same year, she finally released her self-titled debut album, which featured remarkable tracks, such as “Tu Sei,” “You Were Made for Me,” “Gira Con Me Questa Notte,” and many more. Two years later, Padilla released a seven-minute song, “Juan Gabirla (Homenaje al Amor Eterno).”
