The Nutcracker! Magical Christmas Ballet is deeply nestled in hearts across the world. The beloved story is set on Christmas Eve, at the foot of a Christmas tree, and transports audiences to a magical world where Christmas dreams do come true. This enchanting ballet is an adaptation of E.T.A. Hoffman’s short story “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King”, masterfully set to music by much-adored Russian maestro Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Since its premiere in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 1892, this two-act rendition of the magical story about Clara and the Nutcracker Prince has made its way into the collection of most-treasured ballets around the globe. With classical favorites such as “Waltz of the Flowers”, “March” from Act 1, and “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy”, it is little wonder that this enchanting ballet has been part of American Christmas traditions for over 60 years.
