Shen Yun Performing Arts at McAllen Performing Arts Center

Based in New York, the Shen Yun Performing Arts Center is a premier music and dance company that presents story-based performances accompanied by their in-house orchestra called the Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra. The Chinese classical dance performances are utilized to revive 5,000 years of civilization.

The performance features legends, as well as historical eras, such as the Yellow Emperor of antiquity, the Tang Dynasty, the lineage of Chinese civilization. The story’s characters are composed of historical figures, heroes, and legendary characters – these tales will teach sacrifice, courage, loyalty, virtue, and compassion.

The company began in 2006 when a group of Chinese classical artists went to New York to revive the tradition and culture of China. Through highly-skilled dancers and musicians, the Shen Yun Performing Arts can present the culture to the world. Since its inception, the company has maintained its non-profit and independent status and does not receive any government support.
