McAllen Performing Arts Center
Mariachi Sol De Mexico, along with two other local mariachi bands, will be taking part in the Grand Concert of the RGV International Mariachi Conference. Are you looking to spend a summer night with mariachi classics that you know and love? Then you need to make your way to the McAllen Performing Arts Center on Saturday, June 28th! Jose Hernandez, the man behind Mariachi Sol de Mexico, is going to be leading the charge to give fans a night with a ton of classics that are going to evoke timeless memories.
This mariachi night is always one of the more popular events for the Mexican-American community in McAllen. Actually, when it comes to McAllen, you can just mention the community as a whole; the city is very well connected to its Mexican side. That's part of being directly on the border! To be fair, we get plenty of Mariachi nights at the McAllen Performing Arts Center. Many local bands use this venue for their showcases. Nothing against all of the up-and-coming talent from the area, they should really keep doing what they're doing. It's just that once a Grammy-winning mariachi takes the stage, you can tell the difference. When El Mariachi Sol de Mexico plays its tunes, you're going to want to grab your drink or maybe your partner to dance. It really depends on what they start with.
Speaking of starting things off, Mariachi Los Arrieros del Valle will do the honors on the night. They're also a very large mariachi group that can help set the tone. The all-ladies Mariachi Mariposas will also be a part of the evening. They certainly bring a different vibe, particularly when you realize the other two groups are all male.
When a mariachi arrives on the scene or takes the stage, you can pretty much guarantee they'll kick things off with "El Son de La Negra" or "El Mariachi Loco." Even if that's not the case, you can bet that we're going to hear each of these two songs at this event. One of the things, though, that makes Mariachi Sol de Mexico unique is that they've made an effort to create their own music. If you don't want to be caught off guard, you might want to add some of their original tracks to your playlists before this event.
Here are some tips to navigate purchasing seats for this event. You might be able to enjoy this show much more comfortably, a few rows removed from the stage. The music won't feel like it's coming at you from too close. That might be an issue you'll have to contend with if you're sitting up front. Those who find centered spots a few rows back could have a better perspective of the show as a whole without having things get too loud!
