Each year, Shen Yun recreates and elevates their show that has remained true to purpose at its very core. Introducing new dances, tales, and music, they all share the wonders of unseen Chinese culture and history. The traditional pieces they show are truly rare — through Chinese dance that you can’t even see in China. Seen as a threat by some forces and institutions, for Shen Yun, it’s a spiritual and artistic heritage to be protected. HERITAGE ONCE LOST

“Some people might wonder if the story we portray on stage is actually true. But what we depicted on stage is exactly what happened to me,” Shen Yun dancer Jiheng Zhao said.

In 2006, a group of Chinese artists came together in New York — one purpose in mind, preserving and sharing long lost Chinese heritage to the world. Drawing inspiration from a shared practice, they have taken spirituality and artistry to the stage through classical song & dance. With performances said to be “5,000 Years of Civilization Reborn”, Shen Yun takes it all to new heights.

“I believe that all these artistic initiatives are very important to let people know that China is not just a closed country, but that it’s also very wealthy in culture, tradition, and, most importantly, wealthy in spiritual perception,” Jorge Fernandez shared, as cited from a feature by Vision Times.
