Joe Lopez y Grupo Mazz have wowed audiences with their unique Tejano music since 1978. Formed in 1978 in Brownsville, Texas by Joe Lopez and Jimmy Gonzales, the band has made waves in Tejano history. For one, they are one of the pillars in changing the field of Tejano music, bringing in the use of synthesizer before 1977. During the genre's 1990s golden age, they climbed to the top as one of the most popular, most influential and commercially-successful Tejano bands.
