This year’s Deborah Case Dance Academy: Winter Recital will showcase the fine talents of their students, a holiday celebration that families and friends look forward to every single year. As the most wonderful time of the year comes rushing through, it’s time for another dazzling night at the McAllen Performing Arts Center, led by the one and only Deborah Case. Witness exciting, dazzling, and whimsical performances in a show where students dedicate months of training & preparation — all for the passion for the beautiful art of ballet dance. Each year, they deliver an amazing show as every performance raises the bar.

ABOUT DEBORAH CASE

Artistic director of Rio Grande Valley Ballet, Deborah Case brings a lifetime of dance experience to the academy. As a professional ballerina, her own training began way back at the age of three — truly a lifetime of passion for the art. With dedication to the Vaganova (Russian method of dance), her teaching has contributed astounding knowledge and skill + brought many dance professionals to teach at the Deborah Case Academy. Students are empowered to be their best and achieve their maximum potential. She enables a fire of passion, not only skill but also much heart in what she teaches. 

Beyond her teaching at the DCDA and Rio Grande Valley Ballet, the world-renowned ballerina is also a certified John Maxwell Speaker, motivational speaker, and life coach. Moreover, she’s also a Les Brown certified speaker, member of Toastmasters International, and many more under her name. Awarded as the “Most Distinguished Woman in Arts and Entertainment” by the Rio Grande Valley Chamber of Commerce, her passion for dance shines through. She has also been bestowed as a “Legendary McAllen Woman” by the McAllen Chamber of Commerce.

At the Deborah Case Dance Academy, she is joined by a wonderful roster of talents to empower the next generation of professional ballet dancers and ballerinas. We have Katie & Michael Rodriguez, Sarah Almaraz, Jimmy Kryzak, Victoria Barrera, Cielo Soto, and more. These talented and award-winning individuals bring lifetime experiences to the table, ensuring that young learners truly learn from the very best.

This auditorium is home to DCDA’s annual Winter Recital performances. Brimming with music, art, and culture, the McAllen Performing Arts Center is home to the finest live entertainment in town. With state-of-the-art equipment and amenities, every production is ensured to be a smooth run. With a large stage and top-notch acoustics, audiences are immersed in the best way possible. With a seating capacity of 1,800 people, it’s a large venue for the finest shows, from comedy nights, orchestra concerts, and musicals to ballet shows, in town.
