Let the band entertain you with their emblematic tracks, including “Amiga Soledad,” “Que Hubiera Sido,” “Quise,” “El Amor Se Acaba,” “Te Compro,” and many more. This spring, Duelo makes a remarkable return to Texas as they travel across the state to perform and promote their music. The band, who rose to prominence during the ‘90s, were frequent conquerors of the Billboard Top Latin Album chart. Duelo, sometimes known as Grupo Duelo or Duelo Norteño is a band whose members hail from Nuevo León, Monterrey, and Roma, Texas. The six-piece band has released 16 studio albums and seven compilation albums. Duelo enjoys success in their hometown in Monterrey and Nuevo León, as well as the United States. The band was nominated twice at the 2004 and 2007 Billboard Music Awards.
Founded by Oscar Ivan Treviño and Dimas Lopez, who live in Roma, Texas, the band began as a duo in its early days. The two musicians decided to pursue music full time and started to recruit more members. By 1996, the band had six members and was officially named Duelo.
During the first five years of their career, the band continued to perform in clubs and bars while writing music. They slowly gained a loyal following through their relentless performances. By 2002, Duelo released their debut album El Amor No Acaba, which was well-received by fans in Monterrey and Nuevo León. The sales for the record reached over 100 thousand copies, earning them a gold certification in Mexico.
Duelo consistently released new albums per year. In 2004, the band was nominated at the Billboard Awards for Regional Mexican Album of the Year. Three years later, their single “Te Compro” earned them another nomination at the Billboard Music Awards for Regional Mexican Airplay Song of the Year.
