McAllen Performing Arts Center
One of the best dance studios in all of McAllen and the nearby cities, Novus Dance, is going to be taking over the McAllen Performing Arts Center on Saturday, June 7th. This time around, they're going to try to put on one of the most difficult ballets that there is. Swan Lake combines the grace and innocence of the white swan with the power and arrogance of the black one. The story is one that still resonates with audiences to this day, and that's why ballet companies at all levels love to perform it.
In many ways, this particular performance could be a coming-of-age moment for plenty of dancers who are part of the academy. It's not going to be your typical cute spring recital! Things are going to get a lot more serious once Saturday, June 7th, rolls around. You know that you want to be here to witness it all, so click the "Buy Tickets" button right now.
Novus Dance has always been known as one of the most prolific dance academies in the region. They've produced some of the best dancers to come out of McAllen. Many of them went on to have dance shape both their careers and their lives beyond their time with Novus. These live performances shape a lot of those life experiences! Novus Dance is taking on the challenge of putting on Swan Lake, one of the most famous ballets of all time, with a cast of young and experienced dancers. One of the main challenges for the teachers and the production team is going to be keeping the seriousness of the play alive, even with the cute moments that some of the youngest members of the academy will still undoubtedly provide when they're on stage.
The original story of Swan Lake contemplates this transformation and duality of the light and dark swans. This performance has some of those elements within it as well. For a lot of parents, this could be the moment that you recognize that your dancer is more grown-up than you realized. Being able to keep the seriousness in certain moments of the play is again a tall task for the younger dancers. The teachers believe in them, and that's why they're trotting out on stage to give life to this iconic story. You know that your dancer is ready to put on a show! The question here might be, are you prepared to see just how much they've grown?
Usually, for a stage show, you'll want to find a spot that's not too close to the stage. Otherwise, you're not getting the full scope of the show. Then again, in this situation, if you're too far back, your dancer might not be able to pick you out of the crowd. That's a tough decision to make, and so we'll leave you to it!
The other parents and family members might crowd the front rows! If you want to guarantee you have a spot there, get your tickets today.
