Texas! McAllen! Good Golly Miss Molly - who knew we’d have a chance to see a chance of mania right here in the city for all us to enjoy and then some?! A night we’ve been looking forward to since the 1950s ended: are y’all ready for a lot of piano and even MORE nostalgia from our favorite pianist of the last century?? We’re talking Chuck Berry, Lil Richard, Jerry Lee - and everyone in between! All that and more for Pianomania!
Piano-what-a?? Did we STUTTER?? Piano-Mania : the high-energy tribute to the piano stars and songs of the 1950s, with boogie-woogie, early R&B, rockabilly, and jukebox hits -is coming right here to the McAllen P.A.C., and we saved you a spot in the front row!
Tickets for this all-keys show are on sale NOW and starting at $49. Grab the classical crew you’ve known since ‘02 - it’s a full on lesson in musical theatre!
No folks - It’s NOT every night we get to time travel straight back in time to the golden age of rock ’n’ roll, but when we do—you KNOW we gotta do it in style, and you do it loud and piano proud. That’s why all of us here at the McAllen Performing Arts Center are beyond thrilled to welcome Jared Freiburg & The Vagabonds for their national touring production of PIANOMANIA! – Rockin’ the 1950s on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026. From the first boogie-woogie riff to the final piano slam, this night promises a whirlwind celebration of the era that started it all. Fresh off a run of sold-out houses across the U.S., from Fort Myers to Georgia, Jared Freiburg and his crew are bringing the heat (and the hair gel) down to the Rio Grande Valley for a night that’s part concert, part theatre, and all adrenaline.
This is a full-scale musical revival—channeling the fire and flair of Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, Little Richard, and Ray Charles, with all the swagger and stagecraft that made the 1950s a cultural explosion. Expect the keys to fly, the guitars to twang, and the rhythm section to rumble as hits like “Great Balls of Fire,” “Tutti Frutti,” and “What’d I Say” right in front of us like we're watching it live on stage for the first time. At the core of the cocnept s Jared Freiburg, a pianist, vocalist, and all-around showman who cut his teeth portraying Jerry Lee Lewis in the Broadway smash Million Dollar Quartet. His attention to detail is able to melt the neon off a jukebox and make him one himself, which makes him one of the most exciting live performers on the scene today. With The Vagabonds at his side, Freiburg reimagines the music of the ‘50s with so much playfulness—bridging the old with the new nergy in a way that keeps crowds of all ages on their feet. And quite frankly, we're so ready for it.
Pianomania is sort of like a musical revival to remind us that there’s more out there than the status quo. It’s a reminder of what it's like to unite generations, light up a stage, and remind us that only real music is gonna last - and the rest? It's here and gone tomorrow. Here in McAllen, surrounded by the shimmer of the Performing Arts Center and the hum of a Texas winter night, you’ll feel every note bounce, every chord burn, and every song make us remember that we love the OGs.
So, grab your leather jackets, your saddle shoes, and your best dance partner, and let's rock & roll, McAllen style. PIANOMANIA! hits the keys January 21st — and trust us, this one’s gonna set the night on fire. See y’all then, right here in the front row.
