It’s Maestro Dabrowski’s 25th Anniversary, and what better way to celebrate than with a season jam-packed with memorable symphonic experiences? Come on down to the Valley Symphony Orchestra’s home, close your eyes and let one of the nation’s top orchestras transport you to a long time ago, to a galaxy far, far away!
The programme of Star Wars + Four Hands features legendary composer Ludwig van Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture, op. 62, composed for Heinrich Joseph von Collin’s 1804 tragic play, Coriolan. Audiences can also look forward to a special treat - the North American premiere of Bogdanov’s dazzling Concerto No. 2 for Four Hands, as performed by internationally renowned solo pianists Haysun Kang and Christopher Guzman. The programme also includes Henry Mancini’s popular Pink Panther Theme, Schifrin and Custer’s Mission Impossible Theme, as well as John Williams’ renowned Theme for Jurassic Park.
Of course, the performance most music-loving Jedi Knights are looking forward to, is Selections From Star Wars by legendary film composer John Williams. Get ready for the most magnificent sounds you have ever heard coming from a stage - stunning lyricism, raw power, wonderful musical dialogue between The Force and the Dark Side, incredible musical prowess, and of course, plenty of musical surprises.
